The plunger project for my youth group's mission trip to Crownpoint, New Mexico! The youth sanded the plunger's handle at the new year's party (without really knowing why...). They did a great job at sanding them, too. The handles were very soft and smooth and fairly easy to wood burn.

I think the kids will have fun assembling these. I did, so if they don't I guess I can have fun assembling the plungers! :)

I like them! Do you remember Porky the Plunger? I hope that your plungers will be as precious to the people in New Mexico as Porky was to us!

Yes! I do remember Porky the Plunger, in fact that was one of the reasons why I thought of doing this! I couldn't remember, though why you all had it. Can you elaborate?

I was thinking of Porky when I saw these plungers. I think they look like a great idea to get kids involved.

Lets see...the life story of Porky the Plunger.
I believe that Adrianne (maybe Beth?) received dear Porky at a white elephant party. We quickly discovered all of his many talents for stomach suctions. In fact, his talents were so astounding that he rapidly gained notoriety and fame among friends. He began his life during our dorm years and earned his place on the wall with a memorial plaque at the house on Hollyhock. He had a wonderful life and brought many laughs and much joy to so many people.

Erin, that's great! I think that there may be more plungers as white elephant gifts in the future of the people of Kansas! :)

Didn't Porky have to be laid to rest as he broke? (And that comment wasn't Adrianne it was me - oops - check when someone uses your computer)

I think you are right, Steph. I think his plunge cracked and he was laid to rest in a treasured garbage receptacle

Yes I do believe that Porky joined Fiona in the Pocatello/Chubbuck dump.
